Given the amount of sensitive
information that can be contained within a SharePoint Farm, proper
authentication of users is a critically important concern. Most SharePoint implementations use Active
Directory for authentication, but did you know that SharePoint can interact
with a whole array of authentication frameworks?
In this webinar we will look at
these core authentication and authorization mechanisms and how to configure
them for use in your SharePoint Environment. We will introduce the idea of claims
authentication and how this fundamentally changes the authentication and
authorization components of SharePoint.
We will use Active Directory for
general access along with Active Directory Federated Services to authenticate
and authorize users from that are external to your organization. Utilizing
Windows Azure Services, we will also look at how to federate with existing
identity providers and allow users from any platform to seamlessly authenticate
to SharePoint.
